October is Over?!

Omg I cannot believe that October is almost over! Seriously that month flew by and I’m not sure how I missed it! 

This has been a busy weekend for my house from practices to birthday parties we have been busy! Getting in a workout of any quality was hard! This morning I woke up before everyone, let’s be real that happens EVERYDAY…today I needed a good pick me up and as I watched the news I went through a nice 30 minute yoga routine. It was a great start to my busy day and second workout…Boo at the Zoo! 

I took the trio to Trick or Treat with the animals, knowing it was going to be crowded but, that wasn’t the bad part! BEES were everywhere! I literally felt like we were in a beehive. Didn’t bother the kids one bit! They had a blast and ate more candy I will ever admit to letting them eat. My second workout was pushing the stroller up and down hills and maneuvering around crowds. Anything for the kids!

What’s  next?

I have had some time to reflect on the whole experience now.

Would I do it again? This is tough for me. I say no because I hated every bit of it this past weekend. I’ve realized I’m not  built for endurance. Obviously this is why I was  a sprinter in college. Fast twitch muscles…

On the other hand I’m so disappointed in myself that I would do it again because I’m  better then how I competed over the weekend.

There are a few things I would change  with my training.

1) Swimming:  I knew it would be hard. Instead of getting frustrated in swimming during training and leaving the pool I would stick to it. 

Yes I would just leave after 2- 4 laps and say “for get it”.

2) Biking: I would do more rides outside and not on my indoor trainer.

3) Running: I  need to do more than just soccer for running. haha 

So, I have realized  I didn’t train as hard as I thought I was.Maybe this is why I’m so disappointed in how I did.

Next up is starting to train for the Disney Princess Half Marathon!

Oh and a turkey trot!!

Good Luck Goodies

Sunday Rachelle participated in her first triathlon! I tip my hat to her, this is beyond something I could ever do! Swim, Bike & Run?! She’s definitely a superwoman, and I am so proud and happy for her and her accomplishment! 

So what do you do for a friend who is about to compete in her first triathlon? A goodie box of course! There are so many different runner goodie boxes out there you can order online, but nothing is better than a personalized DIY one! 

First to find a shoe box, which was easy to find with my house of 5. Next I tried to get things she could use before, during or after her race!

  • Energy Bars
  • All purpose wipes
  • Advil
  • Lip gloss
  • Gum
  • Almonds
  • Monster mix 
  • Energy Drink mix
  • Water
  • Reese cups (her favorite candy)

I Tri’ d… 

Whelp that was interesting… 

Good news is I finished!!

I have the most amazing friend to wake up early and come support me! Ashley thank you oh so much!!! Please do not let that smile fool you.

Now about this Tri..

Whoa.. There were tears and times I wanted to quit but I didn’t . 

As I imagined the whole time the swim was the worst part for me.

I was already worries when I got to the pool. It was about a 50 minute wait once the race started before I got in the pool.

I got kicked and hit.. I drank some water. All things to make me question why I signed up. This also did not give me confidence of, “ya I got this”.

Bike was rough because of hills. Took me forever to get in the right gear to climb. Started out way to high.

Run… Let me be honest it was a lot of walking. I was pretty discouraged at this point.

I am happy it is over!!

Highlights of the race:

1) The man on the bike encouraging me to just keep pedaling up the hill! Thank you sir

2) The amazing woman with a pink sure on it that said Maddie. Who just lives in the area and told me she would run with me if I could start running because she believed in me. Thanks “Maddie”

This was crazy rough. I  didn’t imagine  it being this bad for me. As of now I do not plan to do another.

But I finished!!

Race Week


Sunday.. Sunday… ehhhhh

Race day is Sunday. I’m ready but I’m not.  I’m honestly just ready for it to be over.   Put a check mark   on the bucket list and keep it moving. 
My training the past two weeks has been ehhhhh.  A bike here, a run there and a swim nowhere. However, I have played a lot a soccer 5 games a week. 

Wait? Soccer isn’t  in the tri? 

I just need to make it out of the pool. 

A whole lot of nervous, a little fear and a little let’s do this!!!

Packet pickup is tomorrow and I’m sure the nerves will build.

Relaxing Weekend

This weekend was a mini mommy getaway to Chicago and time to spend with my mom, dad and little sister! We all met up in Chicago for a great weekend of shopping, food and to see the Musical Hamilton! I got on a early flight Saturday morning and arrived in the Chi at 8:30am! My family picked me up at the airport and we headed to brunch at The Grande Luxe. 

From there we went shopping and I got some great makeup and perfume! We are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel and it’s right in the heart of Michigan Ave so shopping is unlimited! Dinner was at Bandera’s, and OMG it was so yummy I had the prime rib sandwich with spicy horseradish sauce. Since this is trip is about relaxing after dinner it was back to the hotel to sleep! But first I’m going to do a little reading. 

I wear my Fitbit to sleep to track my sleep patterns and they are terrible!!!!! Last night was not like that at all! Eight hours and fifty one minutes of sleep with 1 minute of restlessness is unheard of! Clearly I needed this vacation! 

Today is a little rainy, but that’s ok, perfect relaxation weather! I’m heading Yolk for breakfast then back to my room to chill until we go see Hamilton the Musical afternoon!

Crockpot Fajita Chicken

My favorite quick go to meal!


  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 3-4 chicken breasts
  • 1 package of taco seasoning


  • Cut up the peppers and onions and place at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Use the taco seasoning and cover the chicken breasts.
  • Place the chicken breasts on top of the peppers and onions.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours.
  • Shred chicken 
  • Add rice or put in a tortilla and enjoy!!
